Since 2004, our production department has had a water purification system with biological purification, meaning that micro-organisms naturally break down the waste products remaining in the water after the production process. The purified water is of such good quality that it can be discharged into the surface water.
Due to increased pâté production, we made a major investment last year. The existing fat trap was expanded with an air/water installation into a fully-fledged DAF (dissolved air flotation) unit. This unit removes fats and suspended matter from water so the load on the biological treatment plant is kept to a minimum. .
